Featuring 25 site-specific installations across four floors, the exhibition explores how design shapes the realities of home across the United States, US Territories, and Tribal Nations. Organized into three sections, Going Home, Seeking Home, and Building Home it examines domestic spaces, challenges conventional definitions of home, and presents community centered alternatives.

Audience and goals for the activity guide

Ages: 6-12

Goals:

  • Break down key exhibition themes and explore the many meanings of home.

  • Engage with the exhibition through an array of activities and senses.

  • Create opportunities to reflect and have conversations around home.

Kid's Activity Guide

The guide takes kids and vistiors through all three floors of the mansion. There are around two activities per floor that encourage engaging with the installations in different ways through observation, listening, drawing, and questions that prompt reflecting on the meaning of home in their life.
